Language and Culture Awareness for All
madamenaditz@yahoo.com (Nicole Naditz)
The California Language Teachers Association sponsored a free community event at a major downtown shopping center that could be recreated anywhere at any time.  The event included numerous speakers -- students, parents, business and civic leaders and representatives from ACTFL -- who spoke of the benefits of and need for language study.  Additionally, there was cultural entertainment for the audience and there were donated prizes and many brochures and displays to provide additional information.

Cultural Mosaics, Linguistic Landscapes
madamenaditz@yahoo.com (Nicole Naditz)
This free community event featured performances by local students representing both heritage language and cultural groups as well as second language learners.  There were poetry readings, vocal and instrumental music, and dance.  A dramatic performance was scheduled as well.
